Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is expecting a happy event in his family. His son Yusuf Buhari is set to marry Princess Zahra, the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Kano State, Nasir Bayero. The two lovers met while studying at the University of Surrey in the UK. The news is starting to spread on social media and everyone is commenting.
« Preparations are in full swing for the big event. As per tradition, the groom’s parents met with the bride’s parents to express Yusuf’s interest in marrying Zahra, » said a source speaking on condition of anonymity. She added that the event would have taken place earlier in the absence of the groom’s mother, Aisha Buhari, who recently returned from a six-month medical trip to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Apart from being the daughter of Emir Bayero, Zahra is also the chairman of the Nigerian telecommunications company, 9mobile. « Now that her mother has returned, with Ramadan just weeks away, it is clear that the wedding will take place after Sallah’s holiday, » the source added.
Yusuf Buhari’s wedding, to recall, is the third in Nigeria’s presidential family, since 2016. The first time, Zahra Buhari married billionaire Ahmed Indimi from Borno State in the North East in 2016. The second came last year when the lovely Hanan Buhari, the latest addition to her family, married Mohammed Turad Sha’aban, a financial expert who is also a special adviser to the former governor of Lagos State and current minister of public works, Babatunde Fashola.
