Tunisia has launched an order for at least 11 million doses of vaccine against the Coronavirus, from international laboratories, announced Health Minister Faouzi Mehdi.
The Minister of Health said that the quantity currently received is estimated at 1 million 760 thousand doses of vaccine, adding that in June, about 1 million 780 thousand doses of vaccine are expected in this North African country. It was also specified that the quantities currently stored in the warehouses of the central pharmacy are estimated at about 420 thousand doses.
At the same time, up to Wednesday 19 May, 1,792,776 citizens registered on the « evax » platform who wish to receive the vaccine against Covid-19. At least 450,177 individuals have received the first dose, while 205,900 have already been inoculated with the second dose.
Tunisia has had 329,925 cases of people testing positive for the Coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic, of which 12,032 have died and 291,515 have recovered.
