The Senegalese Football Federation, issued a press release to confirm that the members of the Malian team have tested positive at Covid-19.
The CAF Health Protocol for the CAN UFOA A Qualifying Tournament U20 MAURITANIA 2021 requires COVID 19 testing for all officials and team delegation members no later than 48 hours after arrival on host country soil. The same protocol requires a minimum of eleven (11) players, including the goalkeeper, and four (04) substitutes, for a match.
The COVID 19 tests carried out on the members of the Malian delegation on November 19, 2020, the day after their arrival on Senegalese soil, came back with positive cases, thus preventing the holding of match No. 02 between MALI and GUINEA BISSAU.
Consequently, and in view of the rules, GUINEA BISSAU will have won the game with 02 goals more, and MALI lost the game with 02 goals less, that is to say GUINEA BISSAU 03 points + 02 goals, and MALI 00 point – 02 goals.
The Senegalese health authorities proceeded to the medical care of the affected persons, and to the disinfection of the premises.
The Organizing Commission works with the CAF, and the MALIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION, for the following matches of the MALI team, and recommends the strict respect of the measures and gestures barriers.
For the continuation of the competition, will be played this Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Stade Lat-Dior of Thies at 19 H, the match number 3 of the tournament, opposing Guinea to Mauritania.
