The Malian international star, Salif Keïta, asks his « koro » (big brother in Bambara), Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, to « tell the truth » to French President Emmanuel Macron or to « leave power ».
In a video broadcast live on the social network Facebook and entitled « Urgent Message: I must speak, Mali first, » the singer reproached the Malian president for submitting to « little Macron ».
« Koro if you are afraid to tell the truth to France, if you can not manage this country, leave the power, the one who is not afraid will take it, you spend your time to submit to this little Emmanuel Macron, it’s a kid Koro you do not know that it’s France that finances our enemies (jihadists) against our children? « says the artist.
Speaking in Bambara, Salif Keita laments the death of the Malian military in the north of the country.
According to him, they are killed by jihadists financed and armed by France.
« The Malians are tired, the Malians are poor because of this war that never ends. »
For him, his big brother must tell the truth to France, he says.
He insisted that he has nothing against President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and his regime but it is time to tell him the truth.
In 2018, during the last presidential election in Mali, artist Salif Keita supported opposition candidate Soumaïla Cissé.
The Malian president and his government have not yet reacted to this exit.
