After the death of the head of its gendarmerie, Dah El Bendir, the Polisario has just lost another of its senior officers. It is Najem Ould Ed’Dia, who was among the elements that were planning a sabotage operation against the Royal Armed Forces.
In less than a week, the Polisario Front, the armed wing of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), has lost two important elements in its ranks. After the death of the head of its gendarmerie, Dah El Bendir, the Polisario has also lost Najem Ould Ed’Dia, another of its senior officers. He was among the elements who were planning a sabotage operation on Wednesday 7 April against a position of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), east of the security wall.
« The FAR air strike caused the immediate death of Dah El Bendir, the head of the Polisario « gendarmerie » corps, while other members of the mission were injured, including Ould Ed’Dia. The latter succumbed to his serious injuries in a hospital in Algeria where he had been evacuated urgently, » said a security source reported by Yabiladi.
The death of Najem Ould Ed’Dia is a new setback for the movement of Brahim Ghali, which does not stop issuing daily communiqués announcing victories. The last one dates from 11 April and bears the number 151, reporting fire against six positions of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the newspaper continues. A propaganda that has difficulty in withstanding the test of time and the silence of Morocco, MINURSO and the United Nations (UN), little concerned about the situation on the ground, adds Yabiladi.
However, notes the newspaper, after a few days of silence, the Polisario finally acknowledged the death of Dah El Bendir. A confirmation signed by Mustapha Bachir Sayed in an interview with the Algerian daily El Khabar, excerpts of which were taken by the SPS agency. Brahim Ghali’s advisor promised to avenge El Bendir’s death.
