Algeria will soon be hosting an international Rally, on the scale of the Paris-Dakar and the Africa Eco race. It is the Algeria Eco race 2021, a full rally, which will land on Algerian tracks next October. This grandiose event was planned for the year 2020, but the health crisis had prevented it from taking place. Everything finally seems ready for next October.
The competent ministerial authorities and the Algerian motor sports federation (FASM) have apparently reached an agreement, to the delight of drivers and enthusiasts. Negotiations for this Rally started in 2019, with the former FASM office. The first edition was therefore planned for 2020, but the health crisis arrived and turned all the plans upside down. This time it was the new FASM office, chaired by Amine Leibi, that negotiated, and came to a decision and a date.
The 1st edition of this long-awaited rally will see the light of day in October of this year. All categories will be present (Car, Motorcycle, Truck), which looks very promising. No information concerning the official route of this Rally has been given, but the lovers of this sport have their own ideas. It will be organised by the staff of the Africa Eco race, in close collaboration with the FASM.
Several sites specialised in motor sports have expressed their joy after this announcement. Concerning the route of the competition, everyone agrees that it will have to pass through the leading cities such as Paris, Oran, Ghardaïa, but this Rally will also be the opportunity to discover the great Erg and several breathtaking natural landscapes that abound in the surface area of Algeria.
