The Ivorian Head of State, Alassane Dramane Ouattara, is turning a deaf ear to the appeal launched and reiterated by the musician, author-composer, whose talent and maturity are recognized worldwide: Seydou Koné, better known by his stage name Alpha Blondy, reggae singer.
The occasion of the wake of the former Ivorian Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko alias Hambak, struck down by disease last March, was seized by the Ivorian singer Alpha Blondy to try to reason with the political class of his country and call for reason. During this vigil which took place at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Ebimpé, Alpha Blondy had insisted that Mamadou Touré join him on the pitch, recalls AbidjanTv.
In the middle of the crowd that was all ears for the singer, Alpha Blondy intoned: « You play with fire … You play with fire … Your endless quarrels make the praise of gehenna. And with your personal quarrels you splash us with your hate. Better a terrible end than an endless terror. You are in the wrong war because you are in the wrong opponent… ». A message thus launched by the singer, through the minister of Ouattara, to the entire Ivorian political class.
This Sunday, in Bouaké, insists the media, the same Mamadou Toure gets the approval of his mentor President Alassane Ouattara to assert his explosive truths. « Our father hit them when he was an opponent. He hit them when he is in power, » notes AbidjanTv, which recalls that President Ouattara’s foal was referring to Henri Konan Bédié and Laurent Gbagbo, at a time when the latter are calling for dialogue and reconciliation, in an Ivory Coast whose enemies are « the high cost of living, terrorism, » the newspaper recalls.
