Senegalese Customs seized, this Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 19H, forty-three (43) packets of cocaine weighing one kg in a Kia Sorento Brand vehicle at the Dakar Terminal Park, called « Parc Maguèye ». This is what the Witness reports in his delivery this Wednesday.
The said vehicle, coming from Antwerp (Belgium), was shown in transit to The Gambia, according to a press release from the Customs Service. The seizure was made by the Joint Container Control Unit (Umcc) commanded by Colonel Abibou Diallo and attached to the Customs Subdivision of Dakar Port.
The estimated value of the seized drug is 3 billion FCFA. Customs and all relevant services in the fight against international drug trafficking (Ocrtis and the Scientific Police) and other defense and security forces are working together to determine the actual source of the drug. All these services began investigations to search, find and arrest traffickers.
Informed of the operation, the Director General of Customs, the Inspector General of State Oumar Diallo, accompanied by the Director of customs operations and the Regional Director of Dakar Port, went on the spot to congratulate the agents and their leaders for This new feat demonstrates the determination of the Customs Administration to deal with Organized Crime in all its forms.
The « Parc Maguèye » will be combed in the next hours. The investigation is ongoing and Customs will provide timely information on all aspects of this seizure, which occurs 48 hours after the equally important, prohibited products (Indian hemp and fake drugs), an estimated value of 60 million Fcfa, by the units of the Regional Directorate of Customs Center.
