The staff of a massage parlour, operating in the city of Marrakech, Morocco, has just been convicted by the correctional chamber of the local court of first instance, for pimping.
On Monday 22 March, the correctional chamber of the court of first instance in Marrakech, Morocco, rendered its decision in the case of a massage parlour located in the Gueliz district of Marrakech, whose staff was engaged in prostitution. The court sentenced the owner of the massage parlour to four months in prison, suspended, in addition to a fine of three thousand dirhams, Bladi said.
According to the newspaper, the four employees, including a minor, received slightly lighter sentences than their employer. Indeed, they received a two-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of five hundred dirhams. The client arrested during the police raid was sentenced to a one-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of one thousand dirhams.
The plot was discovered when the Marrakech police prefecture raided the premises following a denunciation from local residents, who had even filed several complaints, in which the inhabitants of the Gueliz neighbourhood accused the owner of having transformed her massage parlour into a place of debauchery.
A search carried out by the elements of the Marrakech police prefecture led to the discovery of a large quantity of condoms. The employees, who revealed that they had been hired to meet the needs of clients, were quick to confess.
