The Moroccan national football team is the most expensive in the Arab world. The Atlas Lions’ market value is estimated at 279 million dollars, ahead of the Fennecs of Algeria and the Pharaohs of Egypt. This ranking by the magazine « Forbes Middle East » indicates that the Moroccan internationals have the highest market value in the Arab world, thanks to their performance in their respective leagues.
Even if they are not African champions, like their northern neighbours, the Atlas Lions’ value is estimated at 279 million dollars. According to the magazine « Forbes Middle East », Morocco is ahead of Algeria in the ranking with a value of 236 million dollars thanks to Riyad Mahrez (51.2 million dollars). The Pharaohs of Egypt, with an estimated value of $197 million, are third.
Inter Milan’s versatile fullback Achraf Hakimi (22) has the highest market value at $73m, making him the most expensive North African player, followed by Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez ($51.2m) and his compatriot Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea) at $40m. Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla) is in fourth place with a market value of $30m.
On the continental level, the Atlas Lions are third in the ranking behind Sadio Mané’s Senegal, whose market value is estimated by Forbes at 418 million dollars. Côte d’Ivoire, whose squad has a market value of $287 million, naturally tops the list.
Liverpool’s Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is the second most expensive African player in the 2020-2021 English Premier League with $120 million, ahead of his teammate Sadio Mané ($102 million).
