The Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) has set the date of August 21 for the final of the Mohammed VI Cup of Champions Clubs, which will oppose Raja of Casablanca to the Saudi team of Ittihad, at the Moulay Abdallah Complex in Rabat. But the Rajaouïs could play this final without several of their executives, including Anas Zniti, Ilias Haddad, Sanad El Ouarfali, Abdeljalil Jbira and Abderrahim Chakir.
If the club has not yet made an extension proposal to the above-mentioned players, fans are demanding an extension for the experienced Moroccan goalkeeper Anas Zniti (32 years), winner of the last two CHAN 2018 and 2021, but also for the Libyan international central defender, Sanad El Ouarfali (28 years), given their importance in the formation of Raja Casablanca in recent years.
Raja qualified for the final of the competition after beating Egyptian club Al Ismaily (0-1, 3-0) in the semi-final. The winner of this year’s competition will pocket a prize money of $6 million, compared to $2.5 million for the runner-up.
Teams that qualify for the semi-finals will receive half a million dollars, while those that reach the quarter-finals will receive 200 thousand dollars and those that advance to the round of 16 will receive 50 thousand dollars.
