On the occasion of the celebration of Eid El Adha, the President of the Transitional Military Council in Chad, General Mahamat Idriss Deby, spoke at the Presidential Palace to members of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. During the ceremony, he noted that « the enemies of Chad have not yet disarmed.
General Mahamat Idriss Deby insisted on the « imperative character of living together and national harmony which must be carefully maintained and preserved. « We must above all understand that nothing is totally and definitively acquired because peace is a permanent quest. And in this regard, I would like to note that the enemies of Chad have not yet disarmed. They are working every day to destabilize our institutions and delay our march towards progress and emergence, » he said.
« We must unite more around our most precious common heritage which is Chad. It is all together that we must show the enemies of the homeland that we are jealous of the independence and sovereignty of our country, » said the President of the Transitional Military Council in Chad.
For his part, the President of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mahamat Khatir Issa, made invocations for peace in Chad and the smooth running of the transition. He also called for social cohesion and patriotism, so that Chad can regain peace and tranquility, which are essential for the development of a nation.
