The Moroccan football team will play two friendly matches in June against their counterparts from Ghana and Burkina, in preparation for the African qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, whose first and second round matches have been postponed to September. The Atlas Lions will be in training at the Mohammed VI football complex, from May 31.
Achraf Hakimi and his teammates will face the Black Stars of Ghana on June 8, before taking on the Stallions of Burkina Faso on June 12, according to a statement of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). These two matches will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat (20:00 GMT), the same source added. An opportunity for Vahid Halilhodžić to review his squad.
The coach of the Moroccan national team, Vahid Halilhodžić, would already target many binationals, in order to strengthen the ranks of the Atlas Lions, such as Sofiane Diop (AS Monaco), Issa Diop (West Ham), Brahim Diaz (AC Milan), Anouar Ait El Hadj (Anderlecht), Imran Louza (FC Nantes) and Mohammed Ihattaren (PSV Eindhoven).
Morocco, seeded in group I, will face Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan in the qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
