On Monday, the new secretary general of the Union for the Congolese Nation (UNC), Billy Kambale, was installed in his new position. On this occasion, the man did not hesitate to pour out his anger about the judicial situation of his party’s president, Vital Kamerhe.
From his place of incarceration, the president of the UNC, Vital Kamerhe, has reorganised the structures of his party. The UNC then gave itself a new secretary general in the person of Billy Kambale. It is this Monday that this new secretary general took office. The occasion for him to pour out his bile, as to the legal proceedings in which remains entangled, since April 8, 2020, the leader of the UNC Vital Kamerhe. « My dear brothers, it will soon be 421 days since our president, Vital Kamerhe, was kidnapped by a simple invitation. Some people have had the audacity to capture him and bring him back to arid places. We want to tell them that we are angry. A healthy anger that we have been ruminating on every day since 8 April 2020. On that day, we received the most twisted blow since the existence of our party, » said Billy Kambale, who is the spokesman for all UNC militants.
Since the beginning of the Kamerhe affair, the militants and leaders of his party have not stopped denouncing a plot, a political machination hatched with the sole aim of putting their leader aside. Nevertheless, they continue to have hope. That is why Billy Kambale adds: « We still believe in the justice of our country.
He then winked at those who derided Vital Kamerhe’s illness: « We are reminded every day when we wake up that the first of us is in the valley of the shadow of death. Today in hospital, some twisted minds, some unbelievers, are even mocking the illness of our leader. Curse you and your generation until the end of time by mocking a leader who is suffering in the hospital bed, a leader who embodies the future of millions.
With these last words, Billy Kambale is especially addressing the militants of the UDPS whose attitude the national coordinator of parties and political platforms allied to the UNC has denounced in a letter addressed to the secretary general of the presidential party. In his letter, Junior Mulongo Mukalayi criticizes the « discourteous, abusive and insulting » remarks made against Vital Kamerhe, his wife Amida Shatur, and his biological family. « We note a laxity on your part, and your silence in the face of these derogatory and dishonourable statements which are akin to complicity, not reflecting the spirit and vision of the President of the Republic who seeks to unite all political and social forces, as well as all our people for a better Congo, » Junior Mulongo Mukalayi continued. He also invites the UDPS secretary general to take great care of his observations in order to « preserve the good climate of political partnership » existing between the members of the coalition Cap pour le changement (CACH).
