One of the richest artists on the African continent, Diamond Platnumz, is on a different planet. A few months ago, the Flava bongo king declared his intention to buy a private jet before the end of the year, and on Friday, the singer and businessman revealed that his plans had come to fruition. The new private jet reportedly cost him around $4,000,000.
Taking to Wasafi’s social media page, Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz revealed to his followers that he had finally bought a private jet. The singer posted a picture of the jet with Diamond’s manager Sallam SK. According to an earlier report by Diamond’s manager, Mkubwa Fella, the plane has a capacity of 38 passengers. The news comes barely a year after Diamond stated on radio that he wanted to buy a private jet, which would facilitate his frequent travels with his staff.
Speaking about his plans to purchase the jet at the time, the Wasafi boss noted that he was due to acquire it in 2020, but his plans were distorted by the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic. Diamond said the jet would have cost him about $4,000,000. With this achievement, Diamond is now the first Tanzanian artist to own a private jet. The new jet comes a year after the ‘Jeje’ hitmaker paid $450 000 to buy a black Rolls Royce Phantom.
Fans of the bongo flava king have not all welcomed the news in the same way, with opinions varying. « I don’t know if it’s an April Fool’s joke or if Diamond has really bought a private jet. Without being a killjoy, I think he should be thinking more about helping his fellow man now than buying expensive things, » said one fan. « It’s a pleasure Diamond, it shows that things have been thriving for a while. God bless you and your whole family, » said another.
Recently, Diamond Platnumz revealed that his song « Waah » featuring Koffi Olomidé, which has so far garnered over 60 million views on YouTube, has earned him an income of over €32,266. This comes weeks after he signed a multi-billion dollar contract with Itel Africa, a phone manufacturing company.
