In order to strengthen the security of identity documents, the Directorate-General for National Security (DGSN) has begun the launch of the new generation of residence permits for foreigners residing in Morocco.
It is also, according to a press release from the DGSN on Friday, to simplify the services provided to all users and to be in tune with the measures adopted on the digitization of the administration.
The same source indicates that the new generation concerns registration and residence cards issued to foreign nationals habitually resident in the Kingdom, as well as the circulation document provided to their minor children whatever their age and which allows them to verify their identity in a secure and secure manner during their stay in Morocco.
According to the statement, the DGSN has ensured that these identity documents have high security criteria and developed, according to globally defined systems, in order to prevent their falsification and improper use by others since they are provided with a password given exclusively to the holder at the time the document is issued.
The DGSN insists that the documents requested for the realization of the new generation of residence permits of foreigners ordinarily resident in Morocco have not undergone any change, adding that the data, the form and content of these identity documents in their new version have been defined in accordance with the organizational decisions published in Official Bulletin No. 6927 of 19 October 2020.
