Death of migrants in Ceuta y Melilla: Senegalese among the victims

18 migrants, among them Senegalese, lost their lives in the enclave of Ceuta y Mellila.

The international organization for the defense of migrants, Horizon Sans Frontières (HSF), « condemns in the strongest terms the death of these migrants ».

HSF calls on « the head of the Spanish government Pedro Sanchez, the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations to open a serious investigation ».

This tragedy should call Europe to question its scandalous management of the triptych (Immigration-Peace-Security). It must adapt to the new situation of international migration with reforms on immigration and the right of asylum, » said Boubacar Seye, President of Horizon Without Borders.

He added: « Moreover, we still regret the deafening silence of the African authorities who should immediately initiate a continent-wide conference for a better management of its youth, a wealth that has become a burden.
