The date of the 2021 Tour du Rwanda cycling competition is now known. This international competition is scheduled to take place between 2 and 9 May. No less than 8 stages are planned for a total height difference of more than 16,000 meters. Some fifteen teams are expected to take part in this competition.
« The national selection is composed of six cyclists, all known to be good climbers, because several stages of this Tour of Rwanda are planned in the mountains. The national technical directorate has therefore selected the riders with the necessary qualities to face this kind of course, » explained the Algerian federal authority in a brief statement.
The riders who make up the Algerian selection are : Azeddine Lagab, Nassim Saïdi, Ayoub Sahiri, Hamza Mansouri, Ayoub Sahiri and Mohamed mine Nehari. They will be led to Rwanda by national coach Hamza Hakim, who will be assisted by trainer Abderahmane Bourezza and mechanic Kamel Benganif. « The national team will fly to Kigali on April 29, 2021, via Doha, while the return is scheduled for the day after the end of the tour, on May 10, » said the CAF regarding the flight plan of the Algerians.
The stages of the Tour Cycliste du Rwanda: 1st Kigali – Rwamagana (115.6km); 2nd Kigali – Huye (120.5km); 3rd Nyanza – Gicumbi (171.6km); 4th Kigali – Musanze (123. 9km); 5th Nyagatare – Kigali (149.3km); 6th Kigali – Kigali (152.6km); 7th Kigali – Kigali (4.5km) CLM Individual and 8th Kigali – Kigali (75.3km).
