CONAKRY-While the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea and its ally the National Alliance for Democratic Change (ANAD) maintain their call to demonstrate this Tuesday, November 3 against what they call « electoral hold-up », the General Prosecutor’s Office threatens to « crack down ».
« The call to demonstrate is more than ever maintained, we continue to mobilize people so that it takes an extraordinary dimension of citizen mobilization, » said Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, director of the Communication Unit of the UFDG at the end of the day.
A few hours later, it was the Attorney General of the Conakry Court of Appeals who, in a statement, banged his fist on the table. Recalling the legal framework for demonstrations, processions, meetings and parades on the public highway in force in the Republic of Guinea, Mamady Diawara warned that « force must remain within the LAW ».
The Attorney General of the Court of Appeals of Conakry, said that the law applicable to these demonstrations under the 2nd Republic was the anti-crime law.
