The competition will take place from 9 January to 6 February 2022 and the draw will take place on 25 June.
The 6th and final day of the CAN Cameroon 2022 qualifiers ended on Tuesday evening, with the exception of the match between Sierra Leone and Benin, in group L, which was rescheduled for next June, due to an imbroglio around positive tests for Covid-19 in the ranks of the Squirrels. But we know at least 23 of the 24 countries that will participate in this 33rd edition of the great celebration of African football.
The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football has unveiled the dates of the CAN Cameroon 2022. The competition will take place from 9 January to 6 February 2022 and the draw will take place on 25 June. « The Executive Committee unanimously approved the proposed dates for the organisation of the draw (25 June 2021) and the final tournament of the CAN Total Cameroon 2021 (9 January to 6 February 2022), » said the statement.
Cameroon will host, for the second time in its history, the tournament after that of 1972. Gambia and Comoros are at their first participation in this continental mass, unlike a nation like Egypt, winner of 7 times (a record).
