The 6th and final day of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers continues. On Monday, Malawi beat Uganda at home (1-0) and thus secured its qualification for the final phase of the 33rd edition in Cameroon in 2022. Egypt, for their part, overcame Comoros to secure first place in Group G. There are only five places left to be taken this Tuesday in the final matches of this final day of the qualifiers.
Egypt, seven-time winners of the African Cup of Nations, beat Comoros (4-0), thanks to a double from its star Mohamed Salah (21′, 25′). The Pharaohs will participate in their 25th African Cup of Nations finals in 33 editions, a record. In the match of the eliminated in group G, Kenya took the best on Togo with goals from Abdallah Hassan (32′) and Masud Juma (63′). The Sparrowhawks saved their honour by scoring from a late penalty, which was converted by Henri Eninful (90’+4).
The only qualifier of the day, Malawi joins the 18 other countries already qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, including Cameroon (host country), Algeria, the defending champions, Senegal, Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Comoros, Gambia, Ghana, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Nigeria and Sudan
