Chad has been disqualified by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), this Monday, from the qualifiers of the Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2022, following the unexplained dissolution of the Chadian football federation, by the Ministry of Sports.
Namibia and Mali, who were due to play Chad in the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this week, won 3-0 on the green carpet in Group A. Mali have already secured a place in the finals in Cameroon, while Guinea (2nd, 8 pts) are 2 points ahead of Namibia (3rd, 6 pts) in the competition for the other spot.
Chad’s suspension will not affect the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Africa as they have already been eliminated.
