The 10th edition of the African Cup of Nations of Beach Soccer was closed this Saturday, with the victory of Senegal against Mozambique (4-1), in Saly Portudal. It is the 6th African crown for Senegal, which qualifies for the World Cup Russia 2021, as Mozambique. Morocco finished on the podium, after its victory against Uganda (5-3), earlier in the day.
Under the sun of Saly, Senegal did not suffer against Mozambique to retain its title of African champion. The Lions of Senegal won their 3rd consecutive title in Saly Portudal. Al Seyni Ndiaye and his teammates have once again shown all their class on the continental stage, to win the 6th title of their history in this competition.
In this final, Ngalla Sylla’s protégés took control of the match very early on, winning in the first minute through Raoul Mendy. The Mozambicans had put the game back on track at the beginning of the second half, but could not hold on for long against the efficiency of Mamadou Fall’s team, who ended up winning (4-1) at the end of the third period.
Deprived of the final by the host country, the Atlas Lions took the third place in the ranking by beating Uganda (5-3), earlier in the day. But Morocco will not participate in the World Cup Russia 2021. The two places of this World Cup logically go to Senegal and Mozambique.
