The President of the Republic, SE. Issoufou Mahamadou received yesterday morning in audience, the Governor of the Federated State of Sokoto in Nigeria, Mr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. This meeting focused on cooperation between Niger and Nigeria in general, but also and especially between the border localities with the State of Sokoto and on the issue of peace and security.
« We took this opportunity to present, on behalf of the people of the Federated State of Sokoto, our thanks and gratitude to the Nigerien authorities for the availability and facilities that Niger shows in our relations on the security, economic and social tranquility, » said Mr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. In this regard, the Governor of Sokoto said that the Head of State reassured them that the excellent relations between the two countries are maintained and continued.
Finally, the Governor of Sokoto thanked President Issoufou Mahamadou while renewing his gratitude for the support and listening he gives to his counterpart Muhammadu Buhari to strengthen security and restore peace in the West African region.
