The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has terminated the functions of the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Brahim Boumzar, says a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The Algerian Head of State Abdelmadjid Tebboune has just terminated the functions of Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Brahim Boumzar. Indeed, Brahim Boumzar was dismissed from his post as minister after more than a year and three months at the head of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.
« The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has terminated, as of today, the functions of Mr. Brahim Boumzar, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, » said the statement. « As he has charged Mr Sid-Ahmed Ferroukhi, Minister of Fisheries and Fisheries Productions to ensure the interim of the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, » adds the same source.
The communiqué of the Prime Minister’s office does not specify the reasons for the dismissal of Minister Brahim Boumzar. Nevertheless, it should be recalled that Brahim Boumzar, since his appointment as head of the Department of Post and Telecommunications, had to manage two files: the improvement of the speed of the Internet connection and the crisis of cash at the post offices.
Recently, the now former Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Brahim Boumzar, had to deal with the strike of postal workers who paralyzed the post offices for a week. The strike coincided with the beginning of the month of Ramadan, which undoubtedly played on the balance and accelerated his dismissal.
