Moroccan international right-back Achraf Hakimi, 22, is set to join Paris Saint-Germain. The French capital club have reportedly agreed to pay the €70million fee demanded by Inter Milan. The transfer is due to be finalised on Monday with a medical for the Atlas Lion.
After Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, the Moroccan international right-back Achraf Hakimi, whose market value is increasing over the years, should know the fourth club of his young career. The Atlas Lion is expected to sign a five-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain. The French capital club has agreed to pay the 70 million euros requested by Inter Milan, currently in financial difficulty despite the Scudetto title.
The transfer announcement is due to be finalised with a medical for Achraf Hakimi on Monday. If the deal goes through, the Moroccan will become the most expensive defender in the history of Paris Saint-Germain. Inter Milan have decided to part with the 22-year-old to replenish their coffers, but are working to find a replacement worthy of his potential. If the Atlas Lion is sold, Dutch international Denzel Dumfries of PSV Eindhoven is reportedly on the Italian club’s radar.
Despite his young age, Achraf Hakimi already has an impressive track record. He won the Spanish Supercup, UEFA Supercup, Club World Cup in 2017 and the UEFA Champions League in 2018 with Real Madrid. He won the German Supercup with Borussia Dortmund in 2019. Transferred to Inter Milan last summer, he made a real contribution to the Nerazzurri’s 2021 title win. He scored 7 goals and provided 10 assists in 37 games.
