Senegalese-American rapper and RnB producer Alioune Badara Thiam aka Akon has used his connections to build his first ever ‘Akon City’ in Senegal, which is due to start breaking ground soon. The ultra-futuristic city was revealed a few years ago, and it seems the 47-year-old multi-billionaire is building another Akon City on the Ugandan side.
While Alioune Badara Thiam aka Akon is already preparing the construction of an « Akon City » in Senegal, his plans are not limited to his native country. The artist-turned-mogul told Uganda’s NBS channel that he will build a futuristic city in Uganda before 2036.
Like its Senegalese counterpart, the Ugandan « Akon City » will operate with the rapper’s own cryptocurrency: « AKoin ». He has not yet revealed the cost of this project, however, the construction costs of his twin city are currently around 6 billion dollars.
