The International Foreign Trade Center has put the small dishes in the big for the opening ceremony of the 17th edition of the fair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), this Monday, June 13.
Top, here we go! Dakar has become, this Monday, the hub of trade between OIC Member States. For one week (from 13 to 19 June), the Senegalese capital is hosting 41 countries of the Islamic Ummah who will present their products and services in the CICES exhibition center. Host of this event, the CICES, through the voice of its Director General Salihou Keita, welcomed its guests by mentioning the importance of this meeting: « It is obvious that we have welcomed this project, because this beautiful example of cooperation meets the desire to create a platform for exchange between the various actors of the business community sharing common values of cooperation and development.
The celebration was attended by several state and diplomatic authorities. In the forefront, the Minister of Livestock and Animal Production, Ali Saleh Diop, who came to replace the Minister of Trade, Aminata Assome Diatta; Latifa El Bouabdellaoui, Director General of the Islamic Center for Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Moroccan Ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri, to name a few.
« The development of trade should bring a breath of fresh air and added value to our economies through the implementation of a synergy and an objective solidarity. It will focus on the comparative advantages between states to improve the level of trade between the various member countries, » said Ali Saleh Diop. Thereafter, the officials proceeded to visit several exhibitors.
On the sidelines of this fair, which will see the participation of over 10,000 visitors, many exchange activities will be organized. These include: the OIC-Senegal Investment Forum with room deals, the forum of the Investment Promotion Agencies of the OIC Member States, a seminar on the knowledge economy, a seminar on the certification of HALAL food products for African countries.
